To help user faster when reuse input data in SAP GUI, SAP Support us store historical data when you typing on local computer.
In this topic i will show you the ways SAP storage history data on your local PC, then you can managed (backup and restore) by yourself.

1-Where SAP GUI stored history file
Login to SAP GUI, click on “Customize local layout“

Choose “Options“


Here you can set history data indicator

Here you can set period of histories data

To see historical data you can access folder via windows command :

In folder you can find file named: SAPHistoryXXX.db

2-Open history file
SAP history file stored on SQLite local database, so you can use SQLite database tools or third party tools to open.

Here you can see history data table

You can browse data of table, but unlucky data content was encrypted.

3-Backup and Restore
- Backup
You can copy and archive your historical data, by backup *.db file

- Restore historical data
Go to the same folder and put your archive file with the same name SAP GUI created.
