SAP PO (Process Orchestration) conceptual

Hi Guys,

I will start series of SAP PO (Process Orchestration), from begin to end. Hope you guys can easier to understand and help your work done easily.

Sometime, i asked myself, there are many standard documents from SAP or on Internet, so why should i create owner articles ?.

With me, articles from internet you can search and do anytime but that isn’t my knowledge. These things over there make me lazy with “Copy” and “Paste” behavior. Obviously, information from internet are useful and help you done tasks fast.

1. SAP Integration historical

From 2000 years, SAP lunched versions of SAP Exchange Infrastructure, each period with different name. SAP Exchange Engine is middle-ware application help transform data from SAP system to Legacy, Legacy to SAP System and SAP to SAP.

In the organization’s landscape more and more complex, need more data transfer from system to system. Different destinations may have different different data structure.

The question is how to make transformation between system to system flexibility, stability, and adaptability such as business requirement changes ?.

2. SAP Integration benefits

To answer above questions, SAP provide to SAP Exchange Infrastructure. That’s engine help:

  • Design data transformation follow “HUB” model.
  • Monitor transfer data centralization.
  • Flexibility to adapt business requirement with less changing.
  • Support multi-protocol.
  • Support EDI document standard.
  • Reduce sending redundant information.
  • Performance improvement.

3. SAP Integration functionalities

SAP Process Orchestration functionalities can be grouped:

  • Integration Landscape
  • Mapping, conversion
  • Transformation

Integration Landscape
In this functions group, Integration consultant can define systems, business components will be invoke to Integration matrix.

Mapping and Conversion
Data from source system(my from legacy or from SAP) mapped with destination system. During mapping, logic would apply following destination’s requirements.

Transformation
Help to identify routing specific source and destination which Engage to message.
