Hi guys, today I want to share my understand about one of capabilities of SAP integration Suite which is called Assess Migration Scenario

There is a quote that I keep comming back to. The Quote is
If the digital transformation is your dream drone to next century business model then integration tool is your engine and assessment of the organization integration roadmap whether it is fit for the future is the fuel to fly your plane for landing correctly at the destination i.e success of the organization digital transformation!

There are many customers used PI version 7.3 for many years to integrated systems together in SAP system landscape
After PI version 7.3 is PI version 7.5 or is called PO ( Process Orchestration). PO supports for a lot of customers SAP in custom process applications and integration scenarios. PO is very stable and it has many features rich integration solution. Because of changing in business requirements and IT stategy, specifically with development of Cloud platform nowaday, customer considers migration their integration landscape to cloud, SAP integration suite – one of services in SAP BTP is interested from customers
But also there are many challenges when move systems, specifically integration to cloud. Some questions from the customer as:
- How to keep all scenarios in PO system because it is very stable ?
- How to take migrations with best low efforts and cost ?

HOW TO USE SAP ASSESSMENT AND MIGRATION TOOL
For many year, Customers migrate their PO to CPI (Former name of Cloud Integration – one of capabilities in SAP integration Suite), they worked in manual way by migrate all ICOs to Integration Flow of CPI.
Reducing efforts of customers and help them take a good overview on their integration content in SAP PO with a rough estimation, SAP released new feature on January 2023, this feature called Migration Assessment.
PREREQUISITE
Reference SAP Help for Migration Assessment
NOTE
Just only Process Orchestration (PO) version 7.5 supported with SAP Migration Assessment. With Process Integration version 7.3 (PI) not support by Migration Assessment Tool. So one investigation need to consider is Upgrade PI to PO and after that apply migration assessment tool with PO. But this will be increase effort . Just my idea for thinking.

HOW TO USE MIGRATION ASSESSMENT
CONFIGURATION SAP CLOUD CONNECTOR
In this step, we need to configure for SAP BTP subaccount connect to ON-PREMISE where PO is in there
CONFIGURATION ACCESS MIGRATION SCENARIOS
Add system PO into Access Migration Scenarios
In this step, we need to add system of PO which we want to run assessment tool. Get host and port of PO from Cloud connector. If Integration Directory and Enterprise Service Builder the same address, just use only one for both. (The same …)
Create Request Data Extractions
In this step, we will run data extractions first to get information from PO to run evaluation.
Dashboard will be provide us total scenarios
Using Scenario Evaluation
After get information from data extraction, next step we will use this information to run Scenario Evaluation.

CONCLUSION
In this topic I shared my understand about SAP Migration Assessment Tool in Integration Suite and take a example for this. Anyway, although SAP help us a migration tool but it is not possible “one click button” migrate end to end one scenario from PO to CPI, just reduce effort and good overview of integration content and a rough estimation.
